Terms & Conditions
Last updated 2 October 2026
In short: NextUse gives guidance on what to do with your unwanted items and helps you sell or give them away to other people. You decide what happens to each item. We don't handle payments and we're not part of any deal between users.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and the NextUse team (“we”, “us”) about your use of the NextUse app. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use NextUse.
2. The service
NextUse helps you clear out unwanted items. For each item it recommends a route (marketplace, donate, recycle or dispose), explains why, and suggests another route if one stalls. You approve every route change.
NextUse is an early-stage project. Features may change, pause or stop, and some screens show clearly labelled demo data, such as sample buyers, offers and facility locations. Demo data is for illustration only.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older and live in Australia to create an account.
- Give accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure.
- You're responsible for activity on your account.
- One person per account. Don't impersonate anyone.
4. Recommendations are guidance
Recommendations, value ranges and donation or recycling guidance are based on the information you give us, our rules and curated public sources. Each source shows when it was last reviewed. Charities, councils and recycling services set their own rules, and those can change without notice. Always check with the organisation before you drop off or book a collection. We can't guarantee that any organisation will accept an item or that an item will sell at a particular price.
AI suggestions (for example, an item's name or condition from a photo) can be wrong. Check and correct them before you rely on them.
5. The marketplace
- NextUse lets users list items and arrange handovers with each other. We are not a party to any sale or gift, we don't own or inspect items, and we don't process payments.
- Sellers must describe items honestly, including any faults, and have the right to sell or give them away.
- Buyers and sellers arrange payment and handover between themselves. Meet in a safe place, inspect items before you pay, and never share bank or card details in messages.
- Both people confirm whether a handover happened, and each can then leave a rating.
6. Items you can't list
Don't list or offer:
- anything illegal, stolen or counterfeit
- weapons, ammunition, drugs, alcohol or tobacco
- hazardous materials such as chemicals, asbestos, gas bottles or car batteries
- recalled or unsafe products, including recalled child car seats and cots
- animals, or anything that requires a licence to sell
We may remove listings that break these rules.
7. Your content
You own the photos, descriptions, messages and ratings you add. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and process that content so we can run NextUse, for example to show your listing to other users or to send a photo for AI identification. You must have the right to share anything you upload.
8. Ratings and conduct
Ratings must be honest and based on a real handover. Ratings can't be edited once submitted. Don't harass, threaten or mislead other users, send spam, or try to access data or accounts that aren't yours.
9. Suspension and closing your account
You can stop using NextUse at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing privacy@nextuse.app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk.
10. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that can't lawfully be excluded.
11. Liability
NextUse is provided free of charge and “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for:
- deals, items, payments or handovers between users
- decisions made by charities, councils or recycling services
- loss arising from relying on recommendations, value ranges or AI suggestions
- indirect or consequential loss, or the app being unavailable
Where our liability can't be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. If you keep using NextUse after a change, the updated terms apply.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you and we submit to the courts of that state.
